REWIND: The Penguins Turn to the Dark Side
The Crosby/Malkin/Letang era got off to a hot start, as the Penguins won a Stanley Cup in 2009 and seemed destined for more championships. However, a combination of bad luck, injuries, and an inability to cope with adversity soon sent the franchise into a tailspin. It all culminated in a first round playoff series against the archrival/scumbag Flyers which quickly dissolved into the ugliest display of defense and sportsmanship in franchise history. We'll recap a truly ugly point in this rivalry and also talk about how it served as the springboard to a championship revival several years later.
